BlackBerry PlayBook OS v2.0.1.358 now Available for Download

A new version of the BlackBerry PlayBook  OS  v2.0.1.358   is now available for download.  This free update can be downloaded over-the-air from your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet by swiping down from the top and selecting Software updates on the left, then hitting check for updates. This update is 362 mb and will require a reboot after the install, so make sure you have at least 20% of battery life or plug your PlayBook charger in.

The BlackBerry PlayBook OS v2.0.1.358 contains many updates including:

  • Browser enhancements to address performance with some websites
  • Improvements to support Android apps
  • Optimizations to Video Chat, PIM and BlackBerry Bridge applications
  • And much more!

BlackBerry Desktop Software Updated to 7.0.0.43 (Bundle 44)

This update is currently only for PC Users, but I would expect an update to be available for Mac Users  soon.

Lets hope this update is in preparation of the  PlayBook 2.0 OS update, that is expected at any time.

Angry Birds for BlackBerry PlayBook Updated to v1.6.3.1

No change log is available that I could find, but the install went fine and I did not loose any of my completed levels after the update. If you notice anything new, let us know here or in the forums.

I play Bubble Birds quite a bit and really enjoy the game play and how accurate the the touch screen play is. Bubble Birds has been updated to v1.2.1. You can see a demo video of the game by going Here.

With the new version of FaceBook 2.1 you get some pretty cool new features. Keep in mind this update to take up to 24 hours for some people to see it available in app world but when it is available this is what you will find new.

Facebook Groups
Facebook Groups is designed to let you share and interact with the groups that you are interested in the most. With Facebook Groups on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, you can view groups that you’re a member of, post updates, photos and videos, view profiles of group members and send messages, and get notified of new group posts and interactions so you never miss an update.

Improved Media Access
You let us know in your comments and feedback that media viewing and uploading wasn’t intuitive in the application. We heard you loud and clear, and the Facebook app team has made some improvements by adding new photo and video buttons on the Photos tab to make it even easier to view friends’ photos and videos from their Profiles. The photo and video uploading capabilities are also now more apparent on the Photo tab, and are accessible from your Profile or through the Photos feature on the navigation grid. Simply click the Photos or Videos button to upload the corresponding media type.
