One of the things I usually do while browsing the internet on my desktop is listen to streaming music in one tab while doing all of my actual browsing in other tabs. Either using youtube to play the specific songs I want to listen to or with Pandora to listen to a broad range of stuff. With the PlayBook browser you can do all of those things.  The only problem is the second you switch tabs the media stops because the tabs cannot multitask.  All of the other tablets I have tried have this same limitation.  I have always used the Bridge browser to get around this, I open one browser and use it to stream music and then open the other browser to do all of my surfing. Now thanks to the Comic Sans Browser I can do it without using my phone’s data package and those of you with a PlayBook but no BlackBerry can now stream while you surf.

It doesn’t appear to be the intended use of the app, based on the description it is meant as kind of a joke.  It makes all of the fonts of websites look silly. Which seems kind of secondary compared to this surprise use for it. The browser loads content just as well as the other PlayBook Browsers will, But it lacks a lot of features.  Before you can use it to play media in the background you will need to go to your options menu and in the General tab make sure application behavior is set to Showcase .

It works, and it’s free.  So if you find yourself needing a second or third browser you should check it out.
