Fun Akinator Web Based Site via the PlayBook. Akinator is the Web Genius

I have to admit I have been trying to stump this web genius for quite a while via my desktop, and I tried it today via my PlayBook and the site worked perfectly.

The Web Genius is nothing more than a fun little web based novelty site where you pick a real or fictional character, answer some questions and he will tell you who the character is.

The accuracy overall is great.

You do need to fill in your name field, age and sex, but it’s  filled in on the honor system with no registration required.

This is quite a bit of fun and worth a bookmark on your PlayBook browser.

SnagFilms BlackBerry PlayBook. Many Films to Choose From.

I had been watching quite a few films so far via the SnagFilms app for the BlackBerry PlayBook and I have yet to be disappointed in performance until today when it started throwing an error while connecting within the app. So I decided to try  Snag Films out on the web and really enjoy the selection of titles and the navigation of the site. I may or may not use the app launcher again, but I will surely keep Snag Films bookmarked on my PlayBook and check it often as more new films get added. While on the site itself  and watching a movie, simply double tap the video to open it up full screen then swipe down from the top to restore its original size.

If you want to try the launcher on your PlayBook the link in App World is provided below. Since the app currently is not working for me I added the direct link to the Snag Films site itself that I know is working fine.

Grooveshark is a Great Site to Stream Music via your BlackBerry PlayBook

James let us know that the music site GrooveShark is now working with the BlackBerry PlayBook browser. The site used to not work, but now it works like a charm.

I added songs to the queue from Styx and listened to some great music.

Karaoke on the BlackBerry PlayBook with Web Based Karaokeparty.com Site

I heard my daughter and some friends singing and stuff over the weekend and I noticed they were using the PlayBook. I asked some info and found out that KaraokeParty.com works great on the PlayBook. One thing you do need to use is headphones because the music playing will be picked up by the microphone and throw off the scoring results.

Keep in mind this is web based so it does require a wifi connection and I did not see if it worked via the bridge browser, but I do not see why not.

Karaokeparty is a music service that let users sing karaoke, practice singing and challenge friends. All that is needed is a microphone and a computer connected to the Internet.

All music on this site are cover versions made by professional muscians and not the original artist.

Anyone can join
Karaokeparty is open for anyone and registration is voluntary.

Web Based Bookmark Application for the BlackBerry PlayBook.

So far this is the simplest web based bookmark site I have found, and it works great from the BlackBerry PlayBook.

The current way to save bookmarks on the BlackBerry PlayBook is ok, but with Only2Click.com you can name your bookmark, upload an image of choice or just have it pull the current home screen of the site.

Adding sites is extremly easy and the site even allows you to create tabs for different categories.

The site does require you to register but I did not need to validate via email.

You also have three skins to choose from, and if you want to add/remove links the process is simple and seamless.
