Stephen let us know about his new game for the PlayBook called 5 Marbles. 5 Marbles is a modern version of the classic Japanese abstract strategy board game “Gomoku” or you can call it Five in a Row. This game is fun yet challenging and worth the purchase if you enjoy puzzle type games at all.

Details: Each player takes turns placing one of their marbles on the game board. To win the game you need to get 5 marbles in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. It sounds easy but it is deceivingly difficult… especially when your opponent is not only attempting to block you but also take the win for themselves!

Practice and hone your skills against the 4 increasingly difficult computer levels or use those talents to take on your friends head to head.

In addition to the traditional game with 2 players (blue and red marbles) this game also has an option to include blocker marbles in one of 2 modes to further increase the challenge.

Jimmy let us know that he released his first game for the PlayBook called Words in Bed. This game offers several game modes that will make this a fun game for a range of ages.

Details: Words in Bed is an addictive new word game which offers many ways to play, both online and offline. With some modes offering a breakneck pace while others are completely relaxed.

Features:

  • Original mode: With letters constantly falling from the sky, it’s your job to make words fast enough to stop them from filling the screen. This is a fast paced mode that will demand the most of your word finding skills. Create long words to earn coins which you can spend on powerups which will either find a word for you or clear a portion of the game board.
  • Word search mode: A word is shown to you and it’s your job to find the letters on the board. This is a fast paced mode that will help expand your vocabulary.
  • Kids mode: Words are chosen from limited subset of child appropriate words for you to find. This mode has no end, so take your time, learn new words and practice spelling(or letter recognition for the really little ones).
  • Online multiplayer mode: Take on the world in a mode that gives everyone the same puzzle to solve at the same time. Your goal is to get the most points you can using 36 letters to form words within the time limit. A new game starts every 5 minutes. Challenge your friends on global leaderboards.
